There will be skiing and snowboarding, everyday from Thursday-Sunday.  Sunday we ski and return to SLO and Goleta.

Trip Overview

The trip includes four days of skiing/snowboarder at three of the best ski resorts in Lake Tahoe and four nights in festive Reno.  Prepare to have fun from sunrise to sundown (and a little bit later).  The bus will leave each morning and make a stop at Squaw Valley/Alpine and Northstar.  These are highly rated ski resorts with plenty of beginner, intermediate and expert terrain to challenge your athletic abilities.  After the lifts stop turning, the fun begins in Reno, the food is amazing-buffets are incredible and the choices for dancing, drinking, and entertainment are seemingly endless.  There will be a Buffet Night-the group is going to Reno's best rated buffet, Bowling Night- The Grand Sierra Resort has its very own 50 lane bowling alley.  And one night is left open so you can explore.

Lodging

We have reserved one of Reno's finer hotels, the Grand Sierra Resort.  The GSR is big, classy and entertaining.  This is the ski trip where you will be having fun trying something different each and every single night.  There will be bowling and buffets, casino's, clubbing and country music, there is something old and new on this trip for everyone to enjoy.
The Grand Sierra Concierge Rooms (with a lot of really nice stuff including free Continental breakfast).  The Concierge has private elevators servicing only Concierge floors, classy room décor and a special Concierge top of the hotel lounge serving Continental breakfast.  Enjoy the view of scenic Reno nestled in the foothills of the Sierras.
For more details about this wonderful hotel please see: Grand Sierra Reno Website

Travel arrangements

We will charter a bus...a big bus with tinted windows, because if you are going to party like rock stars you have to travel like one.
We meet at Elks Lodge in Goleta at 2 PM, we head North on the 101 so this trip will not stop in Ventura, but it will stop in SLO to pick up North County skiers.  We will have snacks, beverages and quirky-yet surprisingly good, movies on the bus, because we roll (and roll) until Reno.

Lift Tickets

There are many different ways to ski/snowboard the mountain.  I'll leave it up to you to purchase your tickets as everyone can figure out what is best for themselves.  But here are some options:
1)  Warren Miller Movie usually offers 2 for 1 vouchers good for Squaw/Alpine.  Go to the Warren Miller movie when it comes to town.  One night only.

2)  The Mountain Collective www.mountaincollective.com has a deal good at multiple mountains, Mammoth as well as Squaw/Alpine.  Each ski destination (Squaw and Alpine are considered one destination) has two included tickets with additional tickets half price.  The Collective is currently on sale in the spring and the fall, but sales usually stop when ski resorts open for business.

3)  Epic Pass (Tahoe Value Pass) is a season pass that is valid at Northstar as well as many other resorts in North America.

4)  Ticket Counters-Yes, you can still buy lift tickets at the resorts.

Since there are so many options, I've provided the information but will leave it up to you to decide which choice is best for you.
