Mammoth trips have been a long time tradition of the club, for as long as there has been snow we head east to Mammoth during the wintertime. Three trips are planned this season to Mammoth and with the weatherperson saying 'El Nino this' and 'El Nino that', I have great hopes for a very white season.
The trip includes 3 nights of lodging, bus transportation to and from Mammoth Mt, welcome party, and the best part Mammoth Mountain. Mammoth Mountain Website
The trip includes round trip bus transportation to and from Mammoth. There will be snacks, beverages, plus a few movies to keep you fully fueled and entertained.
Trip participants will gather for the bus at the Goleta Elks Club on Kellogg Ave on Thursday at 2:30 and leave as soon as everyone is there or 3 PM, whichever is sooner. We will pick up our Southern club members in Ventura and from there we proceed directly to Mammoth.
The bus departs from Main Lodge on Sunday at 4:00PM for the return trip to Santa Barbara. After three full days on the mountain you can relax, eat the sandwich, watch the movie and say "take me home, James". Traffic and weather willing, we should be back in Santa Barbara by 11:00 PM.
We have reserved 27 Rooms at the Shilo Inn centrally located in Mammoth Lakes. You will be only steps away from the downtown area where you can enjoy fine dining, Rafters nightclub and a plethora of fine shopping options (Vons, CVS, etc.) close by. Bring your ski's, snowboard and swimsuit as the Shilo has a sauna, pool and hot tub.
Plan on our traditional Get-Together party on Friday night, we meet, greet and eat. You are welcome to bring your favorite board or card game for the evening's entertainment.
Lift Tickets (Not included in trip price)
Everyone has different ticket needs, pertinent factors depends on your age, the number of days you want to ski and the number of ski destinations you plan on going to. Usually the best time to buy is in the spring, but there are still plenty of good deals out there.
Here are several options for you to explore:
1.) For some the Mammoth Cali4ornia Pass may make the most sense: Cali4nia Pass
2.) The Mountain Collective is an excellent pass-especially if you plan on doing trips to multiple destinations: Mountain Collective (FYI: This pass stops being sold when the resorts open for skiing.)
3.) Lift tickets can also be purchased on the mountain at Mammoth Mountain and in years past a discounted four pack has been available at Costco.

One size fits all trips don't always fit everyone. If you want to ride up on the bus but stay at your condo, or need to work late and will drive yourself, or stay an extra day earlier or later, or you just like to march to the beat a different drum, let your Trip Captain know your circumstances and we'll come up with a plan so you can still be part of the trip.
